The Piney Woods Holler Boys

Howdy folks. Looks like you stumbled onto the official web page for The Piney Woods Holler Boys. We ain't exactly what you'd call tech-savvy, but the fella down at the hardware store told us we needed a place on the internet, so here it is.

We're just a bunch of regular guys who like to pick guitars, slap the upright bass, and make a little noise on a Saturday night. If you're looking for that slick, over-produced city sound with all the fancy auto-tune, you're barking up the wrong tree. We play a mix of backwoods bluegrass, outlaw country, and whatever else sounds good after a couple of cold ones. We play it raw, we play it loud, and sometimes we even play in key.

"Man, I tell ya, folks get too caught up in trying to sound perfect these days. When we get together out in the barn, it ain't about hitting every note exactly right. It's about the feeling. It's about the dust kicking up off the floorboards when everybody starts stomping their boots. I reckon if our music don't make you want to slap your knee and grab a dance partner, we might as well pack up our instruments and go fishing."

- "Catfish" John, Banjo & Vocals

We don't have no fancy booking agents or managers in suits. If you want us to come play at your county fair, local dive bar, or backyard barbecue, just keep your ears open. You'll hear us coming down the dirt road soon enough. We usually play for a decent plate of ribs and enough beer to keep the whistle wet.
